Founded in 1897, the Zionist Organization of America (“ZOA”) is the oldest pro-Israel organization in the United States. With offices around the country and in Israel, the ZOA is dedicated to educating the public, elected officials, media, and...

“By concluding a reconciliation agreement with Hamas, a movement intent on a genocide of the Jews, Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah/PA has shown conclusively that it is not only not a peace partner, but an avowed enemy of Jews and the Jewish state.

“It is very telling that Abbas is wiling to have this alliance with Hamas, despite its continuing commitment to terrorism, the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews.

“As we have argued for many years now, we know from long, bitter experience that the PA is unlikely to accept even the most generous Israeli peace proposals, even ones that would endanger Israel, such as Ehud Barak’s 2000 peace offer or Ehud Olmert’s 2008 offer. Indeed, they have frustrated American attempts to bring about peace negotiations in recent months by adding new demands and also refused even to talk to Israel for almost the whole of the past five years.

The survey also found that Americans deduce from Abbas’ preference for partnership with Hamas that the U.S.-brokered talks were thus bound to collapse. By 66% to 33%, Americans believe that Israel “can no longer negotiate with the Palestinian Authority now that they are forming a unity government with Hamas,” and reject the claim –– as articulated by a PA official –– that “the choice of unifying the Palestinian people enforces peace, and there is no contradiction whatsoever between reconciliation and negotiations” (The Israel Project, ‘National Poll on Middle East Peace Process’).

The Zionist Organization of America has called for the resignation of Secretary of State John Kerry after he stated over the weekend that Israel is becoming an apartheid state. This follows earlier anti-Israel proclamations by Kerry to the effect that Israel’s failure to fall in line with his peace proposals will result in renewed Palestinian violence and an invigorated campaign of anti-Israel boycotts and delegitimization. He also said that Israel’s failure to fall in line with his peace proposals would bring about its end as a Jewish and democratic state. Secretary Kerry thereby sent the damaging and terrible message that the U.S. would do nothing to stop Israel’s potential isolation. This gave extraordinary ammunition to Israel-haters and Jew-haters around the world, including on university campuses…

It is simply inexcusable that Secretary Kerry suggest that a failure of Israel to establish a Palestinian state under current conditions amounts to Israel becoming an apartheid regime. With this statement and previous ones, Secretary Kerry has all but justified the Palestinian violence, international boycotts and delegitimization.

Last week, Abbas’ Fatah/PA concluded a reconciliation agreement with Hamas, the U.S.- and E.U.-recognized terrorist group that calls in its Charter for the destruction of Israel and the murder of Jews. Senator Paul, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that the Fatah/PA/Hamas agreement:

“…brings both danger and opportunity to the peace process, and the next five weeks may prove critical. Israel cannot be expected to negotiate with an entity that does not believe it should exist and that has used terrorist tactics to seek its end. That being said, the new unity government has a chance to put itself on the record as clearly believing in the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish state, as Israel recognizes the right of a Palestinian state to exist … In the absence of such a clear, unambiguous statement on the part of the newly unified Palestinian government, the United States should act to enforce the law and cut off aid to the Palestinian government until they recognize Israel’s right to exist … I will introduce a measure when Congress returns this week to make all future aid to the Palestinian government conditional upon this statement, with a cutoff date of five weeks from now if, upon its formation, the new government does not take this vital step toward peace”

The Zionist Organization of America, which has fought long and hard to secure the release of long-jailed Jonathan Pollard by lobbying legislators, meeting government officials, writing articles, letters and press releases urging his release, nonetheless and with a heavy heart opposes the Obama Administration’s proposal that he be freed in return for unjust, unwise and immoral Israel concessions.

“We are all inclined to divide the world into good and bad, strong and weak, vulnerable and resilient,” says Shahar. “Our findings, however, question this tendency by noting that the most disturbed adolescents are both perpetrators and victims.”

41 Republicans and 41 Democrats – say they hope diplomatic efforts with Iran succeed in Vienna over the next four months – but also call for the “rapid and dramatic” expansion of sanctions if negotiations fail.

The letter began circulating less than two weeks ago, and has attracted 76 signatories since its release. Senate aides told The Jerusalem Post the letter will be sent to the White House early this week.

A source with a pro-Israel organization characterized the letter’s message as “a very significant statement of Senate policy in that it specifies the core principles in final agreement.

A nuclear Iran is a threat to the United States and Israel. This is a bipartisan issue that should concern all Americans. To read more, follow the link above!
